Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) FAQ’s

When do I need an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?

All domestic and commercial buildings, existing stock or newly constructed, sold or let need an EPC by law from the 1st October 2008. It is the responsibility of the owner and or landlord to make sure an EPC is available for the prospective buyers or tenants.

Who produces an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?

An energy performance certificate is produced by an accredited assessor. WM Energy are qualified, approved and highly experienced to carry out all levels of EPC’s. Please contact Harvey James on 020 7378 5800 or to email click here.

What does an energy assessment involve?

An accredited Energy Assessor needs to visit the property with fully measured plans and any information on the fabric and services of the building. The information is then analysed and an EPC is produced with a Recommendations Report which looks at cost effective ways to improve the energy efficiency of the building and lower carbon emissions.

What if I do not have fully measured plans?

If you do not have fully measured plans, WM Energy can prepare these for you, on your behalf.
