£100k Interest-Free Energy Efficiency Loan
The Carbon Trust is offering an interest-free loan of up to £100,000 in value to organisations who are considering the implementation of energy efficiency measures. The loan is repayable over four years and is unsecured, however you must have been trading for 12 months and have an energy spend of less than £500,000 per annum.
The maximum amount that can be borrowed is determined from the amount of energy saved. All projects will need to save a minimum of 2tCO2 per £1000 of loan.
“In many cases your organisation could utilise this loan to pay, in-full, for efficiency measures and see your monthly repayments covered by the energy savings you make from the project”
WM Energy’s ‘Energy Efficiency Opportunity Survey’ will identify whether your organisation is eligible for the loan. If you are eligible, we will build a schedule of efficiency opportunities, their projected costs to implement and their energy/carbon savings in order to make the application to the Carbon Trust on your behalf.
It really is an easy process, with most projects being covered in full by the loan. The loan value offered is purely based on the reduction in carbon so if a project saves 12 tonnes of CO2 per annum, it will be eligible for loan value of £6,000 whether it costs £8000 or £3000 to buy the equipment. This difference between loan value offered and the cost of the goods can actually be rolled over into another project that costs more than the loan value available for it.
As an example;
Client X wants to install a voltage optimiser that costs £8000. Because the project has a high electricty and carbon reduction of 24 tCO2, the loan value available is £12,000. Client X also wishes to upgrade their lighting to very expensive Italian designed LED lamps with a total project cost of £7,000. The loan value available for the lighting upgrade is only £3,000 – making a shortfall of £4000. However, because there is £4,000 that can be rolled over from the voltage optimiser project, the full £7,000 cost is covered.
This is not an opportunity to be missed, call WM Energy today on 0207 378 5800 or email us to establish your organisations eligibility for the loan.
